Judi Alice Glover died December 2, 2024, after a brief illness, at the age of 55. She was born to Judy and Gary Pedersen in 1969 in San Angelo, Texas. Early on in life it was apparent that Judi was kind, funny and intelligent. She was the big sister to Anne and younger brother Randall and loved being the director of what happened with her sibling. Judi was an expert at giving orders and when they were young, Anne and Randall, obeyed—not so much when they got older. Judi’s dad was in the military, so the family moved multiple times. After high school she attended Angelo State University.
Judi’s early career was spent in the home mortgage business. The housing crash in 2008 led Judi to a career that was to become her ministry and mission in life. She became the Assistant Director of the Baptist Center at Broadway Baptist Church where she helped persons who are unhoused and in need of the basic-necessities of life. Judi was known by the respectful and caring way that she treated each client of the Community Center. She worked there eight years and was then asked to join the inaugural team of True Worth Place as the Volunteer Coordinator and when True Worth merged with the Presbyterian Night Shelter Judi became the Director of Volunteer Engagement for all the facilities of PNS. To know Judi was to fall in love with her and clients and staff alike appreciated Judi’s gifts of caring for others.
In 2005 Judi met Jon Glover and she knew he was “the one.” Jon became her love and companion in life and they married in 2006. They formed a partnership—when most people spoke of Judi it became Judi and Jon or Jon and Judi. Their children were their three Corgis.
Judi and Jon loved traveling, antiques, and entertaining. She was an active and faithful member of Broadway Baptist Church—she not only worked there she became a Stephen Minister, a Deacon, and chaired and served on numerous committees. One of her favorite ministries at Broadway was rocking babies on Sunday mornings. Judi and her sister Anne traveled to Africa on two service trips. Wherever Judi found herself she brought laughter and joy and delight.
Judi’s family included cousins Chris (Sharon) Grace and Cora; Zachary; brother-in-law Robert; sisters-in-law Elvia (David) Julie, Emily; Cheryl (Larry) Greg, Celeste, James; and a whole host of friends who became “foamily to Judi “(family you pick for yourself).
Judi’s life will be celebrated on Monday, December 9, at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church-305 West Broadway, Fort Worth, TX 76104. In lieu of flowers you can make a gift in Judi’s memory to the Broadway Baptist Center or the Presbyterian Night Shelter.
