It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Marie Cadwell on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Judy was born on August 20, 1948 to the late Albert and Mabel Sutherland Wood.
She attended and graduated from Polytechnic High School. She then graduated from John Peter Smith as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked in the Emergency Room of John Peter Smith Hospital, eventually moving into Home Health Care, and finally to the Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic. Judy retired from nursing after forty years, leaving a legacy of compassion that touched many lives.
Judy was an avid sports fan, and her favorite teams included the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Dallas Cowboys.
She enjoyed time spent with her family as they attended horse races and traveled to Winstar. She was passionate about Irish culture and history and was proud to act in a play along with her husband and son at Scarborough Faire.
Her greatest joy was giving birth to her boys, Kyle in 1968, and Kane in 1975. Her next joy arrived with the birth of her grandson Kirk in 2003.
Judy loved her family passionately and fiercely, and was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed deeply.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Kyle Anderson and wife Emma Katherine; son, Philip Kane Chapman; grandson, Kirk Anderson; sister, Eva Wood; and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Brown Owens & Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
