PITTSBURG-Judy K. Tolden passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the age of 68.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pittsburg, Texas.
Judy was born September 19, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Leonard and Roberta Fitzgerald. She graduated from Tucumcari High School, Class of 1971. She loved reading, traveling and helping others. Our fondest memories of Judy are as follows:
Judy, momma and I were at Scottsville for camp or a women’s retreat. We were walking back to the dorms, it was late and dark. We all got so tickeled about something. That uncontrollable, crying & laughing. People were asleep, so we were trying to shush each other which just made it worse. She and I laughed about that so many times after. – Jenny Cunningham
She called me “her bestie” because that’s what we were. One of my fondest memories is going to the first Downton Abbey movie and she insisted we wear tiara’s. We went to eat before the movies and wore them there! When we got into the movie theater everyone loved our crowns. We were royalty going to see the movie. She loved to dress the part for special days at the school. You never knew what she was going to wear, but she would have earrings and necklaces to match her crazy outfits. She loved and was loved by most everyone she came in contact with. I’m glad I was one of them!- Angela Smith
Her dressing up at all the Trunk or Treats. Jensyn loved that she would always bring her a sprite if she was ever sick. Addy loved the time when we were at the Ironman race in Galveston and it starting pouring rain and me, Addy, Jensyn and Judy had to run in the pouring rain to a hotel out of the rain and we were soaked head to toe! She would always call Jimmy Jimster and he would always call her Hootie. – Marla Harwood
