Karen Lucretia Tyson Hughes, 80 years of age, a resident of Fort Worth, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. via Zoom Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Interment: Marystown Cemetery, Burleson, TX
Karen was born May 16, 1941 to the late Vivian Corder and Woodrow Tyson in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from North Side High School in 1959. She was already working in the accounting department at Tandy Corporation. Later in life, she worked as a payroll specialist and accounting consultant for several corporations. Karen loved reading the Bible, sewing, cooking, entertaining guests and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Karen’s greatest joy came from volunteer work, helping others to draw close to God. She spent over 25 years in the full-time ministry, baptized in 1960 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Karen will be deeply missed by her family and so many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Woodrow Tyson and John Tyson; and son, Steven Hughes.
Survivors: beloved husband of 62 years, Wesley Gene Hughes; son, Troy Hughes and wife Rhonda; daughter, Kerri Jerry; grandchildren, Chelea Hemlee and husband Derwyn, Ethan Hughes and wife Liana, Talon Jerry, Michael Jerry, Hunter Jerry, Angelina Jerry, and Tyson Jerry; sister, Mary Binford and husband Charles; numerous nieces, nephews and grands.
