Katherine (Katie) Schweigert, 50, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of De Soto, Missouri, died May 29, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Katie graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School, Overland Park, Kansas, and Wichita State University, with a degree in Social Science. She was born in Kirkwood, Missouri on December 14, 1971, a daughter of Roseann (Fisher) Sanders and Gary Sanders and spent her elementary and youth years in De Soto, Missouri at Sunrise Elementary School.
In addition to her husband, Douglas Schweigert (Fort Worth, Texas), she is survived by her mother, Roseann (Fisher) Sanders (Overland Park, Kansas), 3 siblings, Scott (Tina) Sanders, Joe (Kristie) Sanders, Amanda (Jacob) Shafton; nieces and nephews, Tori (Sanders) Connelly, Madison Sanders, Penelope and Annabel Shafton, Myah, Parker, and Brooklyn Sanders and one great nephew, Jack Anderson; mother-in-law, Mary Schweigert and 2 sister-in-laws Laura Schweigert, Sara (Shane) Boland; nieces and nephews, Danielle (Boland) Jones, Anna Boland, Michael Boland, Samantha Gettinger, and one great niece Isla Morrell. Family and friends meant the world to Katie, and she will always be remembered for her generous and kind heart.
Katie was preceded in death by her father, Gary Sanders, and father-in-law, Raymond Schweigert. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in De Soto, officiated by Stephanie Rustige on June 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
