Kathryn “Katie” Bonner Bean

Fort Worth-Kathryn “Katie” Bonner Bean, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, May Day, after a brief stay in hospice.
Memorial service and inurnment will be in October 2018 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, 75211.
On October 21, 1924, in Bloomington, Texas, Katie was born to the late William K and Jessie Elmira Bonner.
Katie attended nurse’s training at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas in the 1940’s and married Harold Ray Bean on May 27, 1948. She worked at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, as a coding and abstracting clerk in the 1970’s.
Katie was an extraordinary baker, seamstress, gardener, and golfer. Having taken up golf in the late 1970’s, Katie scored four holes-in-one, two of which were during tournament play and were observed by marshals. She was well known for her sourdough French bread, Swedish tea rings, and pecan pie.
Katie was a former member of Western Hills United Methodist Church.
Katie was predeceased by her husband, Harold Ray Bean and sisters, Ann Boyd and husband, James, Edith Sample and husband, Bob, Willie Mae Elliot and husband, Homer, Lola L. Bonner; and brothers, Albert Kay Bonner and John R. Bonner and wife, Eva Mae “Mickey”.
Survivors include sons, William C. Bean and wife, Roxanne, and Robert J. Bean and wife, Amy; daughters, Martha Kathryn Bean and Paula Kay Oredson and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Keri Bean and husband, Aaron Buchanan, Kirsten Lester, Charlie Bean and wife, Jennifer, Zed Bean and wife, Stephanie, Preston Bean and wife, Megan, Jake Bean and wife, Alison, Tara Kruse and husband, Ryan, Jilliann Gainey and husband, Peter, Aubrey Graham and husband, Brian, Jerren Oredson and wife, Ashlee; great-grandchildren Lane, Kalyn, Boston, Katie, Alexis, Ella, Harlan, Weston, Addison, Avery, Alivia, Roisin, Theo, MaeAmelia, Poseidon, Thalia, Kaeda, Ayden, Austen, Aaren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
