FORT WORTH — Kimberly Kay Kellar, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015.
Memorial service: Private.
She was born Dec. 13, 1958, in Orange County, Calif. She was an avid outdoors person who loved horses. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was loved by everyone. Kim was a hospice nurse for many years for Vitas Hospice Care. Vitas also gave her loving care at the end of her life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Ruxer for his expert care during her seven-year battle with lung cancer and also her dear friends, Bobbi Bean and Loraine Liles, for their loving care.
Kim will be deeply missed by all. Kim’s hope was that her many friends would gather together in memory of the good times they enjoyed together.
Kim was predeceased by a stepbrother, James Powhatan.
Survivors: Father, Clifford Weber and wife, Jo; mother, Penny Powhatan and husband, Dan; children, Rick Powell and wife, Kristina, and Jon Powell and wife, Angela; sister, Marilee Verdesca and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Rickey and Aryan Powell; niece, Lauren Honeycutt; nephews, Ryan Honeycutt and Matthew Verdesca; stepbrothers, Mark and Keith Powhatan; stepsister, Sharon Powhatan; loving companion, Will Butler; lifelong friend and the father of her children, Rick Powell Sr.; and many, many friends.
