BEDFORD-Lana Jean Watson Carpenter, age 68, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 19, 2020 at 11:00am at Universal Hospice Services in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Memorial service: Her memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25th at the Brown Trail Church of Christ, Bedford, Texas.
Interment: She will be buried in Arkansas at the Oma Cemetery.
Lana was born on August 8, 1951 in Weatherford, Texas to Edward and Patsy Watson, the second of three daughters. She attended Weatherford schools until 1967 and graduated from Richland High School, Richland Hills, Texas in 1970. She married the love of her life, Jerald Don Carpenter in 1970 until his passing in 1982. Together they had one son, Geoffrey Michael Carpenter, who was devoted to her care after her stroke in 2016.
She loved family gatherings and reunions and you could count on her sharing stories, remembering details everyone else had forgotten. She developed many long-term friendships during her twenty-three-year career with Southwest Airlines, having worked seventeen years as a reservationist and finished working with the Cargo Department. She was a longtime active member of the Brown Trail Church of Christ in Bedford, Texas and could be found there whenever the doors were open. When there was a need she was ready and willing to help in any way she could.
Lana’s talents were many. She was a meal making, craft creating, item painting, board game playing, old TV shows watching, storytelling, fun loving, helping, giving, caring woman who shared her warm loving smile and funny sayings with everyone she met. With Lana, no one remained a stranger for long, because they would soon become her friend.
She was met in heaven by her husband, Jerald Carpenter and her father, Edward Watson.
