Lena Faye Craig

BOWIE-Lena Faye Craig, known to family as “Tooter” passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the age of 69.

Lena was born December 17, 1952 to the late Gomer and Margrette Brookshire in Henrietta, Texas. She spent time in California before moving to Booneville, Arkansas where she graduated high school in 1971. The family moved to Bowie, TX in 1979. She resided in Bowie for over 40 years. Many knew her from her days working at Gibson’s Discount Center and at the Montague County Courthouse in the Tax Assessor office. She retired from DFW Airport Board in 2008 after more than 20 years of dedicated service. She was a people person and never met a stranger. She was strong, confident, stubborn as a mule and would help anyone at any time, she loved to cook and feed people. Lena loved garage sales, penny shopping and couponing, playing games and especially playing Bingo. She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Margrette Thygesen; daughter, Courtney Craig; grandchildren, Ren Thygesen and Ryan Rainwater.
