HALTOM CITY-Lorraine Frances Young passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 89.
Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Valarie & David Cuozzo’s home. Since red was Lorraine’s favorite color, please wear something red to her celebration.
Lorraine was born Monday, May 19, 1930 to the late Harvey and Dorothy Allen in Detroit, Michigan. Lorraine loved to make people laugh; one of her favorite things to say when someone asked her “How do you feel?” and she always said, “With my hands”.
Her life long dream was to dance just one dance with Fred Astaire. When she was young, she loved to go to dance halls and ballroom dance with the sailors that would come through the Detroit area. She was an excellent baker and baked hundreds of cookies at Christmastime and gave them to everyone she knew. She loved to play slot machines when she was still able to travel to Vegas and would stay up all night playing in the casinos. After moving to Texas, we would go to Winstar occasionally so that she could play because she always loved it so much. Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Dorothy (Steven) Thomas, Betty Jane Allen and Billy Schroeder.
