Loyd Bodkin Jr. "Sonny" as all who knew him affectionately called him, was a man among men. He loved the races at Kennedale speedway and prided himself on never missing a weekend. He loved his family and friends with a ferocious heart. He loved smoking meat, making jerky, and cooking for those he cared about. He was a cantankerous prankster that was the life of the party all to often. He wasn't the man you called if you needed help because somehow, he always sensed when a loved one or a friend or even a friend's friend needed help and he was always there to lend a hand. Sonny will be missed terribly by anyone that was lucky to know him. We will hold a celebration of life gathering in January 2025 and all details will be posted on his FB PAGE @ SONNY BODKIN when we have them squared away.
Loyd "Sonny" was survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years Amy Bodkin, his son and daughter in law Dereck and Nicole Pierce, grandchildren who were his heart Ellie and Lochlan Pierce, a slew of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many many friends.
Loyd was preceded in death by his father Loyd Bodkin Sr. and his mother Nelda "Tarver" Bodkin of Fort Worth, TX, his grandson Aden Pierce, brother in law Joshua Jones, his sister and brother in law Hobert and Loretta Janes of Lake Worth, TX, Sister Priscilla Bodkin of Fort Worth, TX, sister Christine Bodkin of Fort Worth, TX.
