Maria A. Ramirez

November 20, 1932 — August 30, 2023

Maria A. Ramirez peaceably passed into heaven with her children by her bedside. We know she warmly was greeted by her Lord and loved ones on the other side. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:21

Maria was one of five daughters born to Otoniel Ocampo and Marcelina A Aguirre Guerrero, in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. She traveled to and became a citizen of the United States and had four children, Carl E. Richards, Renee M. Richards, Carleen A. Richards and Dr. Bonifacio Ramirez. She was married to Alfredo F. Ramirez.

She was educated and trained as a nurse - a profession she loved and in which she excelled. Maria had multiple talents and interests such as gardening, drawing, sewing, decorating, cooking, music and design. Most of all, she loved her God, her children/family and people. Maria was generous in her kindness, sweet in her words, uplifting in her laughter and faithful in her prayer.

Maria was active and a leader in her church, Fort Worth Harvest Church, and in her later years was regarded as the matriarch and charter member of the church. She left her mark and deep impression on people of all ages.  There was a richness of love and joy in her presence. Truly, she inspired generations of people throughout the years and she deeply will be missed by all. We love you, Mom.  We love you, Sister Maria.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Carleen A. Richards; son, Dr. Bonifacio Ramirez and his wife, Ellen S. Ramirez; grandson, Giles J. Ludwig; and granddaughters, Erica M. Ludwig, Morgan Richards, Maria-Rita Ramirez, Zoe Ann Ramirez, and Megan Allen.  Other survivors include her son-in-law, James E. Ludwig, and his wife, Eugenia Ludwig, and daughter, Elena Davies; sister, Miriam Quesada; nephew, Pastor Mario Quesada and his wife, Doris; nieces, Kattia Quesada and Arlene Quesada; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews in Costa Rica.

A memorial and celebration service for Maria A. Ramirez will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in
the chapel at Brown Owens & Brumley, 425 S. Henderson Street, Fort Worth, TX 76104.
