NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Marlene Frances Sack passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 in Grapevine, Texas at the age of 78.
Memorial Service: To be determined at a later date.
Marlene will be laid to rest with her husband, Jack, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
Marlene was born to John and Irene Leahy on July 11, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey. After graduating from high school, Marlene married the love of her life, John “Jack” Sack on July 26, 1961, and settled down in Sparta, NJ. She began her career as a Mortgage Loan Officer and, later drove the local school bus while raising her family. Her love of crafting eventually led her to starting her own Stamping and Card business.
Marlene and Jack moved to Texas over 15 years ago, where she became a devoted parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Community Church in Colleyville. She was a Eucharistic Minister and was instrumental in starting the first GSCC Women’s Group and monthly Bunco Nights.
Marlene loved her many friends and anything having to do with her church community, especially her time spent with her Small Church Group and CRHP and Women’s Group “sisters.” However, her fondest memories were of her time spent with her dearest friend, Rosemary Marotta, and her family, The Nutts. They adopted and loved Marlene as their own and included her in every family celebration and holiday. She loved them all dearly and felt blessed to have them in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John “Jack” Sack and her beloved “four legged” companions, Penny and Snooky.
Survivors: Son, James Sack (Patricia) daughter, Coleen Gama (Renato) granddaughter, Alayne Sack and many other extended family and friends.
