Mary Katherine Boyett “Kathy”

Born in Denver City, TX on July 14th 1955 and passed away on July 15th 2024. 

She is survived by two daughters, Zoe Boyett and Tonia Honaker and her bonus son Alen Honaker as she would always say. Her grandchildren, Lydia Boyett, Eddie Rodriquez and Donovan Rodriquez. Her great grandchildren Khalil Dawson and Mia Rodriquez. 

She had a strong, fiery spirit admired by all who knew her. She is from a long line of strong women and her engaging stories of traveling with the carnivals to working on crab fishing boats will truly be missed. She had a special love for books and would never turn away a conversation. She never left her family without a “I love you” and she will be forever missed. Forever our mom, our grandma, and our GiGi.

 Angels falling constantly Conscious thoughts berate my convicted rights Hearing a curious begging or calling Architecture mirroring collective sighs Hysteric gentle understandings Wondering if she can hear our beckoning Recollections of the past unfolding Eyes closed while lungs open slowly To wake up now, all would bat an eye, But you are being carried, above me- Above desolate streets and ever changing beings, to the gates of gold To catch up with fellows of friends and family, into your new beginning To carry nothing but the memories Weightless, seamless, to never break at the seams We will carry your heart as we Tell your stories like collisions of galaxies Your essence residing in light years of ancient galleries, Painless forevermore, your love never ending. May the sky brave cheers to your blessed legacy You are one with the infinitesimal star beams The new life, decay, roots planted deep Immortal by spoken words and sprouting leaves Dancing through the beam of the sun, through moonlight You live on with this overture, and fond spoken poetry.
