Mary Beth was born on Saturday, August 4, 1928 in Plainview, Texas to the late Joseph T. Fielder and Lula A. Fielder (Taylor). She was the youngest of six children.
Mary Beth graduated from Baylor University in 1948 with a degree in Business, which she utilized throughout her life as a bookkeeper. After graduation she moved to San Diego, California where she met and married her husband, Robert Wilson “Bob” in October 1950. After retiring, Mary Beth and Bob enjoyed six years of traveling around the country in their RV, touring every state in the continental United States before settling down in Ingram, Texas. They became devoted members of the Trinity Baptist Church of Kerrville where they both enjoyed singing in the choir and other church ensemble groups. After the death of her husband in 2009, Mary Beth moved to Fort Worth.
Mary Beth’s hobbies included reading, playing cards, and singing in the church choir. But one of her most passionate hobbies was supporting her football teams, The Dallas Cowboys and Baylor Bears. Her loyal support of the Baylor football team is summed up by the motto inscribed on her brick outside of McLane Stadium in Waco which reads “We Believe”. She believed that anything in life could be accomplished and anything could be overcome , a belief that permeated her entire family and created a lasting legacy. “The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the love of a Mother” – St. Therese of Lisieux.
Mary Beth is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years Robert Wilson and granddaughter Layne Elizabeth Wilson.
Survivors: Mary Beth is survived by daughters Cindy Wilson and Barbara Dorman and husband, Cary; son, Maurice Wilson and wife, Shannon; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss her love and lively and fighting spirit.
