Mary Ruth Detherage age 86, left this earth for her Heavenly Home on January 1, 2022.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Aledo Church of Christ, 201 FM 1187 S., Aledo,Texas 76008
Mary Ruth was born on November 4, 1935 to Andrew Jacob Green and Essie Leona (Johnson) Green. She was one of 9 children.
Mary Ruth married Carol Detherage in 1954. They had 3 children together Michael, Debbie, and Nick.
Mary Ruth was a member of the Aledo Church of Christ in Aledo, Texas. It is in this church that she and Carol raised their children and guided them to learn and love the word of God.
Mary Ruth worked for the United States Postal Service in Aledo, Texas for over 20 years.
Mary Ruth was a staple in the Aledo Community. She was known for her kind heart, tenacious work ethic, and her love of community. There was not a project too big or too small that she wasn’t willing to roll up her sleeves and help with. During her time living in the Big Yellow House, members of the Aledo Community knew her door was always open to stop by and grab a bite to eat or just have a place to rest.
In addition to her parents and siblings Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Ann Templin.
Left to cherish Mary Ruth’s memories are her Husband Carol Detherage of Aledo, Texas; son Mike Detherage of Aledo, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Nick and Kelly Detherage, of Aledo, Texas; son in law Steve Templin of Hurst, Texas; brother and sister in law Carl and Fern Green of Aledo, Texas; Grandchildren- Amber and Alberto Alonso of Austin, Texas, Kevin Brandt of Fort Worth Texas, Chandler and Kyle Davidson of Bryant, Arkansas; Kaitlin and Kamryn Detherage of Aledo, Texas; Great Grandchildren Ashby Wood, Evalen, Emma, and Mateo Alonso of Austin Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
