WEATHERFORD-Michael C. Sanders passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the age of 74.
Memorial service: 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
A reception will follow at Best Western Plus, 922 E. Hwy. 67, Duncanville, Texas.

Michael was born May 25, 1944 to the late Wilburn C. and Dorothy Sanders in Fort Worth, Texas. Michael attended Ranger High School and also attended Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Army from 1961 – 1964. He served in LaRochelle, France as SP4 in the medical corp. Michael worked for Mine Safety & Health Administration as a federal mine inspector. Michael loved to travel, play golf, studying history and casino gaming. He will be fondly remembered for the pride and love for his family. He cared deeply and was true to his many friends. Michael was always ready for a celebration; holidays, birthdays or for no reason at all. He was known to drag out a story…..and repeated the same story often. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and a good friend to many and will be deeply missed.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn C. and Dorothy Sanders; sister, Carole Ann Sanders; and niece, Fawn Sanders Cave.
Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Phyllis; son, Michael T. Sanders; son, David A. Sanders; son, Adam C. Sanders; grandson, Derek K. Sanders and wife, Tabbitha; grandson, Ryan N. Sanders; grandson, Drew A. Sanders; brother, Phil Sanders and wife, Teresa; brother, Steve Sanders and wife, Myrene; sister-in-law, Nita Burgoon; nephew, Justin Sanders and wife, Jenny; niece, Whitney Junot and husband, Richard; many great nephews, great nieces, cousins and friends; and our extended Animal Angels family, Beth, Matt, Mattison, Duncan and Lilly Kelley.
