FORT WORTH — Paula Lehr Briggs passed away peacefully after a 13-year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and breast cancer Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the age of 63.
Memorial service: Private
Memorials: Donations can be made in Paula’s name to First United Methodist Church of Azle, the Boy Scouts of America Longhorn Council campership fund or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Paula was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and Azle. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Azle and a previous member of University United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
Paula was a longtime secretary for the Boy Scouts of America – Longhorn Council and the Fort Worth Police Department. Paula raised three sons to become Eagle Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America and along the way became the cubmaster of Pack 9 and later the scoutmaster of Troop 9. Paula was the second woman ever elected to the local Order of the Arrow lodge and was an Ordeal member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Freda Lehr; sister, Linda Mosley; brother, Marshall Lehr; and sister, Dorothy Erwin.
Survivors: Son, John Briggs and wife, Natalie, and son, Sterling; son, Ricky Briggs, and wife, Carey, and children, Will and Lyndy; son, Terry Briggs and wife, Sarah, and children, Nathan, Hunter and Logan; siblings, Dolores Silva, David “Bubba” Lehr, Donnie Lehr and Ronnie Lehr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
