Peggy Ann Kimmel (Mitchell)

Peggy Ann Kimmel (Mitchell) was born on April 14, 1934 and passed away on July 18, 2022. She passed at her home in Ft Worth TX surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old.

Peggy Kimmel was born to Charlie & Toni Mitchell and was one of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie & Toni Mitchell of Zeigler IL, Rosalie Kern of Murphysboro TN, Charlene Stoneburner of Carbondale IL, Harold Dean Mitchell of West Frankfort IL and her husband of 45 years, Bill Kimmel of Carbondale IL.

She is survived by her younger brother Bob Mitchell of Zeigler IL, her daughter Terry Kimmel of Springfield MO, her son Rich Kimmel (Theresa) of Ft Worth TX, her son Scott (Denise) of Ft Worth TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Kelley Kimmel of Ft Worth TX, Mike Kimmel of St Joseph MO, Travis Graves (Lauren) of Ft Worth TX, Ashley Hudson (Colby) of Castle Pines CO, Justin Graves of Ft Worth TX Nash Kimmel of Aledo TX & Josh Kimmel of Omaha NE. Great grandchildren include Eliot Kimmel, Miles Kimmel, Edison Kimmel, Jude Kimmel, Andre Kimmel, Kinslee Graves, Adelynn Hudson & Alice Hudson plus numerous nieces & nephews.

Peggy grew up in Creek Nation, considered herself a “Zeigler girl” & loved to talk about her experiences there. She married Bill Kimmel & moved to Carbondale IL. A few years later they moved to Evansville IN with their growing family. Other moves took them to Paducah KY, Jackson MS, Columbia MO, St Paul MN, St Louis MO, back to southern IL, with a final move to FT Worth TX 22 years ago.

Peggy’s true enjoyments we’re her family & friends & a long term love of teaching & playing the piano.

Funeral arrangements are through Vantrease -Pyle Funeral Home in Zeigler IL. Funeral services & visitation will be at Church of Christ at Minor in Mulkeytown IL. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m., burial at Zeigler Cemetery.
