Peggy Widaman, 77, passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2024, in Fort Worth, TX. after a year long battle with cancer.
Peggy Widaman was born on March 24, 1947 in La Jolla, CA, to Charles C. Widaman and Ettalee A. Widaman.
Peggy graduated from Paschal High School in 1965 and went on to earn an Associate of Arts Degree in Commercial Art from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1967. She started her career as a draftsperson at General Dynamics, later worked as a mechanical drafter at Helena & Harlan consulting engineers, then at Dow Chemical Company in Houston. In 1985 Peggy left for California where she worked briefly at Neiman Marcus, then found her true passion working for travel agencies including American Express. In December 1995 she returned to Fort Worth to assist her aging parents and worked as a sales representative in the gift and apparel markets at the Dallas Market Center and traveled to trade shows in Las Vegas, New York and Tunica, Mississippi. She finally concluded her career, again working as a travel agent at Paul's Cruises & Travel in Arlington TX.
Peggy never married but shared much of her life and most of her travels with her companion Mr. Billie B. Williams who was with her at the end.
Peggy was best known for her exploring, she had set foot on all seven continents, had visited approximately 80 countries and most of the United States and loved to experience new places and new people. She had a passion for Art and museums and she created drawings, paintings, pottery, blown glass and fashion designs which she sewed and wore. She loved costume jewelry, hats and bright clothing. She had a knack for making friends wherever she went. There were no strangers, only friends she had not yet met. She loved to dance and although she did not play any musical instruments she loved music, especially the soul and rock and roll of the 50's, 60's and 70's. She water skied, snow skied, scuba dived and loved to fly with friends in small planes. She was a very aggressive and intimidating opponent at ping pong, table shuffleboard, card games or any other competitive venture. She loved all kinds of animals, and although she considered herself a "Dog Person" she had 6 cats at the end of her life. She loved her family especially the Widaman and Kronforst cousins, her niece Christen, and Billie's nephews and grand nieces.
Peggy is survived by Christen Scott - niece, Gregg Widaman - cousin, Claudia Mar - cousin, Natalie Kronforst - cousin, Greggie Widaman - cousin. and the 3 children of Natalie and her husband John Kronforst; Amelia, Whitney and Devin and the 3 children of Greggie Widaman and Jackie; Delmar, Lydia and Noah.
Peggy is preceded in death by Charles Caron Widaman - father, Ettalee Arneson Widaman - mother, Randy Dean Widaman - brother
No service for MS Peggy Widaman is planned. She assisted in planning and attended a party celebrating her life on September 8th 2024.
