Raymond Anthony Martinez, 67, passed away on November 20th 2024 after a long battle with persistent health issues. Raymond was born on June 20th 1957 to Frances and Ramon Martinez in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating Northside HS in 1975 he went on to serve in the United States Army for 20 years first as an Infantryman then as a Pharmacy Technician. The majority of those years were attached to Mobile combat support hospitals. in early childhood Raymond met the woman he would marry. Rosemary Manriquez. Amidst all his teasing, they fell in love and went onto two children Phillip and Alexander. Raymond and rosemary spent a majority of their marriage at Fort Ord, right outside of Monterey Bay and enjoy traveling until she passed away after a Heart Transplant in Houston, Texas. Raymond had a tough exterior and eccentric personality. he adored the Three Stooges and loved to joke around.(although he was quite critical of what he thought WAS and wasn't funny.)he was the most kind hearted person you could ever meet and he would do anything he could for the ones he loved. Raymond retired from the army in 1997. You could be hard pressed to remember a time when he wasn't cooking, watching football or soccer or just enjoying time with his family. This includes his siblings, friends, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, and towards the end of his life, his first great grandchild. Raymond is preceded in his passing by his mother Frances, father Ramon, younger brother Philip, and the love of his life Rosemary.
He is survived by his three sisters Laura, Patricia, Maria. His brother Peter, 2 sons Philip and Alexander and his grandchildren Baylei, Brant, Malia, Rosemary, Rynn, and Cristalena as well as his great grandson Nicolai.
He is now rejoined with his loved ones and we are sure he is dancing with his wife one again. (Oh how that man loved to dance.) Memorial service will be held on December 13th 2024 at Brown Owens and Brumley Funeral Home and Crematorium 425 S. Henderson St. Services will begin promptly at 3 pm and end promptly at 5pm. Hawaiian print shirts not mandatory but encouraged. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
