SPRINGTOWN — The Rev. Kathleen “Kathy” Ott passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at the age of 72.
Memorial service: Will be announced at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society for rescuing endangered animals.
Kathy grew up in Keller and moved to Springtown in 1974. She earned many higher educational degrees, including a B.S. in mathematics at Arlington State College, B.A. in English at the University of Texas at Arlington, M.S. in mathematics/computer science at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, criminal justice degree and master of divinity at Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg. She was called and ordained as pastor of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Fort Worth in August 1992.
Kathy was a public schoolteacher in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD for 13 years. She was a computer design engineer for Bell Helicopter and General Dynamics. She was a professor of mathematics and computer science at Tarrant County College and New Mexico College in Hobbs, N.M.
Kathy’s greatest desire was to serve her Lord and make a difference in someone’s life. She loved animals and now joins her beloved pets. May God grant her eternal life in Christ.
Kathy was preceded in death by parents, James and Mary Ott; and brother, Norman Ott.
Survivors: Sister, Marilyn Hartsell of Poolville; brother, Lawrence Ott of Apple Valley, Calif.; three nieces; four nephews; five grandnieces; five grandnephews; and many friends.
