HALTOM CITY — Ricky Sherman, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, left this world peacefully with his family by his side, Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the age of 67.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Monday at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel, Pastor Rocky Johnson officiating. Interment: Ricky will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ricky was born July 23, 1947, to the late Norton and Hazel Sherman in Decatur. Ricky will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and his love for coaching his son Richard’s baseball teams. He also was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be deeply missed by us all, and remain in our hearts forever.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley Harden; brother, Norton Sherman; and sister, Judy Maley.
Survivors: Loving wife of 47 years, Janie Sherman; son, Richard Sherman and Natalie, the mother of his children; daughter, Cheri Turner and husband, Jay; sisters, Tammy Lewis and Sue Hardee; grandchildren, Leslee, Bailee, Ashton, Jaston, Nikolas, Peyton, Destinie, Tyler and Brilee; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
