Ronald Roy Gouyton, 76, beloved husband, dad, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Ronnie was born January 7, 1946 in Fort Worth TX. He was the oldest of three children. Ronnie attended Lake Worth ISD where he graduated in 1966. He joined the Army in March 1967 and served as Military Police in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He then joined the Fort Worth Police Department in 1968 & continued as an Army Reservist until 1972. His police career spanned from 1968 through 1991 when he retired.
In July 1988, Ronnie married the love of his life, Gail. In 1990, they moved to Silver City, New Mexico and resided there for over 24 years. An avid outdoorsman, adventurer, and firearm enthusiast, Ronnie loved being in the mountains where he could hunt and fish and enjoy his ideal life with Gail.
They moved back to Texas in 2014 to Lake Whitney where they continued spending their time together traveling, camping & mainly fishing & filling the freezer in anticipation for their annual fish fry that was always looked forward to by everyone who attended.
Ronnie was welcomed into his eternal home by his parents, Nolley and Clara Gouyton, His in-laws , Rolly and Billie Jo Hubbard, great granddaughter Witlee Roan, best little buddies Mick and Sophie, closest friends Mike “Worm” Curran, Leonard Schilling, and several others too numerous to list individually.
Those remaining to carry on his memory are his wife of 35 years, Gail Gouyton, daughters, Gayle Renee Gouyton & husband Ronnie, Shira Tinney & husband Allen, Ginger McKinney & husband David, sons, Will Rook & Monty Gouyton, granddaughters Laicee Turney, Kyler Gouyton & Reagan Torres, grandson Dakota Tinney, great granddaughter “Squishy” & great grandson Nolan, He is also survived by his brother Craig Gouyton & wife Diana, sister Jeness Gouyton & nephew Shawn Gouyton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members & many friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 2:00 p.m. on January 29, 2023 at The Event center at 3993 Flat Rock Rd, Azle, TX. 76020 We would like to invite you to share an anecdote, a memory, or a story about Ronnie, be it about hunting, fishing, policing or just whatever!!
