Rosa Lee Smith

Rosa Lee Smith passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Visitation: 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

Funeral service: 1 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at Nancy Smith Cemetery, Glen Rose, Texas.

Rosa Lee was born Monday, March 3, 1952 to the late William and Marjorie Taylor in Cleburne, Texas. Rosa attended and graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, Texas, class of 1970. She later received her Nursing Degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. Rosa worked for Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth for 23 years and retired in 2011.

Rosa was a life long member of the Worth Baptist Church in Fort Worth. She was a lover of history and antiques. She enjoyed watching old movies, loved flowers and gardening as well as her animals.

Rosa also loved taking her kids to Burgers Lake during the summer and spending time with her grandkids at the river. Watching Chris Farley on Saturday Night Live in the 90’s and laughing together with her children. Christmas mornings were magical as we shared our time together as a family. One of her favorite moments was when she got to be in the operating room while her granddaughter, Hailey, was born. 

Rosa was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, great grandmother and a loyal friend and will leave behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and a deep love for life that will be remembered by all of us. 

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Taylor; and sister, Ann Taylor.

Survivors: Daughter, Frances Villines and spouse, Johnny; son, Bryan Stubblefield; daughter, Darlene Talmage and spouse, Richard; son, Ronald Smith Jr.; granddaughters, Crystal DeLacruz, Cynthis Davidson and Hailey Talmage; grandsons, Clinton Hamm, Richard Talmage III, Jacob Stubblefield, and Jax Smith; great granddaughters, Delilah DeLacruz, Jenny DeLacruz, Bella DeLacruz, Tesla Smith, Lexi Smith, Madelyn Hamm and Dahlia Talmage; and numerous friends.
