It is with overwhelming sadness to announce the sudden passing of Ryan John Anderson, fondly known as "Bear", a father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend to so many in Texas and back home in Canada. Ryan is survived by his father, Bernie Anderson and his wife, Susan, his daughter, Eastyn Ryan Anderson, his sister, Devon Anderson and his step brothers, Greg Hunter (Tess) and Michael Hunter (Brittany). Ryan is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his mother, Lorna Anderson and his grandparents, Jack and Barbara Hazell and William and Elizabeth Anderson and his Aunt Tess MacNeil.
Born in Richmond BC, Ryan grew up in Toronto living an active life. Surrounded by many friends, his involvement in sports, especially hockey, at which he excelled as a Goalie. Ryan’s ability to rise to the occasion with his teammates led to many victories having won Provincial Championships in two age groups. With his team, they won five tournaments, during his final season with his sister and Mom cheering him and his teammates on. Halifax, Lake Placid, Detroit and Buffalo were just a few of the cities he and his teammates took home the Gold.
Ryan’s personality, quick wit, and his enormous smile would light up a room and was his greatest gift. His loyalty to his many, many friends is most noteworthy having relationships dating back to the first grade.
His fighting spirit also led to great success in his business career. Starting as an assembly worker, Ryan developed into a leading Salesman for Duplium Corp. and lastly, Sales Manager at Tape Innovations in Ft Worth, Texas, his chosen home. A Canadian at birth, Ryan was a Texan at heart having lived in the great state of Texas for over twenty years. Although his lifelong dream of a Toronto Maple Leaf Stanley Cup never materialized, he also loved the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars were among his favorite teams.
