BURLESON-Steve “Pacer” Cornish passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at the age of 73.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 1 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
VISITATION: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the funeral home.
INTERMENT: Steve will be laid to rest at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery following the service.
Steve was born Tuesday, October 21, 1947 to the late Gilbert and Katherine Cornish in Fort Worth, Texas. Steve attended and graduated from Polytechnic High School, Class of 1965 and was still proudly wearing his high school ring until recently. He was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Burleson. He was also a member of the H.O.G./Harley Owner’s Group, and the Antique Motorcycle club of America. Steve started working for Kissinger Auto Supply in 1966 in Fort Worth and later at the Burleson store. In 1985, he went to work for himself creating a hot rod parts store. In 1987, he was working for Dick Smith Auto Supply for wholesale auto parts and in 2012 he retired from 4M Parts & Auto Supply.
Steve was passionate about Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a historian of the motorcycle and Harley Davidson Motor Company. He truly was an oracle of knowledge and information. Steve bought his first motorcycle in 1963, a blue AMF Pacer when he was 14 years old. He purchased Harleys every few years, usually blue until his last bike, he bought a black 2016 Harley Davidson Triglide, a 3 wheeler motorcycle he could take his walking stick along with him, strapped to the back. Isaiah 40:29 Live to ride, ride to live. He collected Harley Davidson memorabilia, owner’s manuals that dated back to 1903, catalogs for products, hats, caps, books and everything that reflected the history of Harley Davidson.
Steve also loved his “fur babies”, Wee Toady, a Yorkie, and Kaeltee, a border collie mix. They were his constant companions.
SURVIVORS: Wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Cornish; son, Stephen Cornish; daughter, Stasha Cornish; sister, Janet Hicks and husband, Joe; grandson, Cody Cornish; granddaughter, Faye Cornish; blended family, Brigeen Crisp; Barry Holmes and wife, Crystal Kenneth Holmes(deceased); Tommy Holmes and wife, Shelly; grandchildren, Cassidy, Will, Jeffery, Bethany, Michael(deceased), Makayla; great grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden, Cutter, Beckett, Aiden and Bishop.
