FORT WORTH-Steven Whatley age 40 died October 15, 2021 after a courageous battle against Coronavirus. Heaven is a brighter funnier place with him. He is making Jesus laugh right now and drinking coffee telling Him who we are to him and how important we are to him. We know there are two sets of eyes watching over us now. We are glad he is up there bringing laughter to everyone until we get there.
Many of his family and friends knew him only as a funny, sarcastic and humorous joker not the brave superhero that he was. Full of creative stories that filled their lives with lots of smiles and laughter. Many have heard he survived a vicious shark attack or piranhas while saving a flamingo floatie. Some have even heard he was hit by a train while in pursuit of criminals or was it from complications from a radioactive spider bite that led to the loss of his leg.
He traveled where he wanted to travel, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix and loved wholly. Thoughtful, caring, made a friend everywhere he went, heart of gold with a spirit of forgiveness.
Steven is survived by his loving mother Cynthia Whatley and companion Brian Bernard, adoring sisters Crystal Stanley (his kung fu fighting partner), Jennifer Dougan (his avenger) and Jessica Terry (his Oracle). His long-time crime-fighting brothers of the heart, Seth and Alex Vining as well as many other life-long friends. Devoted Uncle “Bebe” to his nieces Brianna Mack, Jaycie Stanley, Sophia Terry, and Teagan Dougan; nephews Logan Terry, Carson Stanley, and Finnegan Dougan; who were blessed to have him. Brother-in-laws Josh Stanley, Eric Terry and Mike Dougan. As well as multiple Aunts and cousins.
Proceeded in death by his father Thomas Whatley, Uncle Steve Ross, and Great Uncle Hubert Riley.
