Ted James

FORT WORTH — Ted James passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the age of 84.
Celebration of life: 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Ted was born June 20, 1929, to the late William Jesse and Lois Margaret James in Wellington. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He met the love of his life, Dorothy, and they were married Dec. 29, 1956, in Olney and were married for 56 years. Ted graduated from McMurray University in 1952 with a bachelor of arts degree. He then earned his master’s degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. Ted was a band director for 29 years in Texas public schools and retired in 1989. He was also a choir director for Methodist Church.
Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Dorothy James; son, Jeff James and wife, Becky George; daughter, Dana Taylor; grandson, Gray James; granddaughters, Amy Norwood and husband, Josh, Shera Rasmussen and husband, Randy, and Georgia James; great-grandson, Conner Rasmussen; sister, Wynona Gossett and husband, Delmo; and many friends.
