Thomas Vest

FORT WORTH-Thomas Vest passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the age of 75.
Celebration of life: 11 to 12:30 Monday, August 12, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home.
Memorial service: A Veteran’s tribute will be at 2 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Thomas was born Sunday, May 7, 1944, in Sundown, Texas and he was adopted by John Thomas and Lora Jeane Vest of Loraine, Texas. He graduated from Loraine High School and also graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a business management degree. He received Sublime Degree of Master Mason Acacia. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Army and was a mechanic and marksman (rifle M-14). He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of dedicated service as a mail carrier. Thomas enjoyed playing golf, shooting craps in the casinos, country & western dancing, coin collecting, watching westerns on TV and most of all, spending time with his wife, Helena. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.
Thomas is preceded in death by parents, John Thomas and Lora Jeane Vest; and brother, Joseph Robert Vest.
Survivors: Wife, Helena Vest; step-daughter, Beverly Hale and husband, Ronnie; step-son, Geoff Davenport and Samantha Falor; step-daughter, Amanda Pair and husband, Josh; step-son, Larry Harris and Baylee Fojtik; grandchildren, Justin Hale, Joshua Hale, Aiden Harris and Grayson Harris; great grandchildren, Liam Hale and Emery “Sissy” Hale; nephew, Lance Vest and wife, Sonia; nephew, Greg Vest; niece, Karla Vest Hendrickson; and many childhood and close friends.
