Ulrich (Rick) S. Hansen

September 27, 1957 — September 10, 2023

Ulrich (Rick) Hansen crossed over to the Promiseland on September 10, 2023.

Rick Hansen was born in Aalborg, Denmark on September 27, 1957, to Svend & Helga Hansen.
His brother Frank would follow 2 1/2 years later.

Rick played piano from a very young age and excelled quickly. In his teens, Rick was a student of the Aalborg Musical Academy where only highly qualified musicians could pass admittance. Rick was considered such a talented concert pianist, he was given a soloist position at Copenhagen University. He could play for hours upon hours upon hours.

Rick majored in political science which would remain his life long passion. A good political headline would get him stirred up every time.

He joined the military at the age of 19 and was chosen to be a Personal Guard to the Queen of Denmark. Serving would continue and always be a big part of his life.

Rick had an American flag on his wall as a young boy with a burning desire in his heart. In 1979 the dream came true and he came to America. He loved this country and the freedom our Founding Fathers fought for.

Rick went to medical school but God had other plans for him. The knowledge he gained from the 5 years of medical school would benefit his family and many others later in life.

Rick gave his heart to Jesus on Christmas Day, 1979, after a near fatal car accident.
Rick & Frank had a praying grandfather who made up his mind he would not leave this earth until both of his grandsons were saved. Both Rick and Frank gave their hearts to Jesus and their grandfather, finally having peace, passed away a week later. Praise God for praying grandparents.

Rick worked in the jewelry industry for well over 25 years, before starting his own consulting business, Covenant Synergy. He truly enjoyed helping people become all that they could be.

Rick had stores and accounts all across the United States from Newport Beach, CA , to Washington DC, and Billings MT to Atlanta GA. He said he got his best ideas while traveling.

Rick met Jackie Barnes in 2000 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, while he was serving at a Christian Crusade. He had driven all the way in from Chicago. His love for Jesus, those beautiful blue eyes and cute dimples immediately stole her heart and won her over. They were married on Valentine's Day 2004 and spent the next 19 years serving God together.  Rick was a romantic and Jackie always had fresh flowers for every occasion.  A lot of times in his favorite color which was yellow.  He was truly the BEST husband that Jackie could have ever dreamed of having.

For the last few years, Rick stayed close to home and took care of his wife after she encountered medical issues. He took over her Shoe Shine Business that she had started in the 80s. They both really loved a nice shiny shoe.

Rick spoke 4 languages consisting of English, Danish, German, & French, however English was his favorite language.

Rick had a great sense of humor and always found the joy in life.

Rick loved and served Pastor Billy Burke of Tampa Florida and Dr. Bob Nichols of Fort Worth Texas with all his heart.

Rick was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Mother and Father.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Hansen of Arlington; brother, Frank and wife Susan; nieces ,Tabita and Sandra and their families; nephews, David and Michael, many cousins, all of Denmark and a host of loving friends.

Dr. Bob Nichols will be presiding over the celebration.
