FORT WORTH-Virginia Lucille Highfill King, 100, was promoted to the Father’s House Wednesday, April 29, 2020.
Memorial service: A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date at Gambrell Street Baptist Church in Ft. worth, TX.

Virginia was born Monday, November 10, 1919, to the late William Edney and Barbara Millard Highfill in Belville, AR. She grew up on a farm in eastern Oklahoma. Following high school graduation, Virginia graduated from Draughon’s Business Institute in Tulsa, OK, and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, School of Religious Education in Ft. Worth, TX. Virginia was the consummate pastor’s wife, serving for 55 years with her husband Kenneth King as pastor and wife to six churches in OK, TX, Green Bay, WS, NJ and Virginia. “Grandma Queen”, as dubbed by her great grandson Luke, loved people and was beloved by all. Virginia was a prayer warrior. Her legacy of love and ministry will live on in the lives of her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to meet her. The family wishes to express special thanks to Virginia’s caregivers Cindy and Melanie at Community Hospice of Texas.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Herman, Bruce, and Claude Highfill and one sister, Lois Highfill Graves.
Survivors: She is survived by her daughter, Brenda King Barnes, son-in-law Ken Barnes; granddaughters, Jennifer Roberts (Tony) and Cynthia Daniels (Jason),;great grandchildren, Esther Roberts Smyton, William Roberts, Z Roberts, Noah Daniels, Luke Daniels, and Emily Daniels; and great-great granddaughters, Ashlynn Kay Smyton and Josephine Noelle Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
