W. E. Bruton

W.E. Bruton-May 13, 1950 – January 19, 2022
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Mae Murry Griffin Bruton and Jefferson D. Bruton, he is survived by his five siblings: Judy Sharpe [David] of Gatlinburg, TN; Ellie Marsh of Gallatin, TN; Linda Bourland [Mike] of Fort Worth, TX; Larry Bruton [Iromy] of Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia; and Jeff Bruton of Raleigh, NC; 12 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and great nephews.
William worked for a concrete pipe company in Fayetteville for more than 30 years.
He volunteered in Senior Services for the Community projects through Snyder Memorial Baptist Church where he was a lifetime member. He also volunteered in a veterinary clinic in Fort Worth for a number of years.
William attended University Baptist Church, Fort Worth, and was active in his Bible study class while his health allowed him to be so. His faith in God was strong and he never shied away from sharing it.
William loved his family. He enjoyed sharing birthdays, holidays, ball games and special visits with his nieces and nephews. He loved and cared for his mom and dad as they loved and cared for him. His generosity and caring spirit were part of who he was. He loved people of all ages. He loved nature. The touch of a Christmas poinsettia leaf, the wide-eyed wonder of the vastness of West Texas, the stars on a dark, cloudless sky, all captivated his imagination. He loved dogs, birds, horses, flowers, classical music, McDonalds coffee and chocolate.
William’s passing leaves a silent void in the lives of those who loved him. His lifelong efforts to meet and overcome his physical challenges will continue to inspire us all.
“Goodnight sweet prince and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
William Shakespeare, Hamlet
