FORT WORTH–Wendell C. White, 73, died Wednesday, April 11, at his home of 40 years in Benbrook, Texas.

Wendell was born November 19, 1944 in Lamesa to Willie and Sophie White. A pilot of C-7 Caribou in Vietnam, C-47s in Germany, and B-52s at Carswell AFB, Wendell served with distinction and was respected and admired by all who knew him. His sense of humor, integrity, untethered generosity, and boundless love remind us how to live a life filled with beauty and meaning. And Wendell was the Texas Rangers’ #1 fan.
Wendell is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Bednarz.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Paulette White; daughter Wendy White, fiancé Gabriel Farris, and granddaughter Sydney Corell of Austin; daughter Jennifer White, husband Larry Johnston, and granddaughters, Jessa and Eleanor Johnston of Willow Park; daughter, Erika Durham and husband, Alan Durham of Fort Worth; son, Joshua White and wife, Maria Guarneri-White of Puyallup, Washington; brother, Kenneth and wife,Sharon White of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister, Sherry and husband, Louie Birdwell; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
