Wesley "Eugene" Rutledge

Wesley “Eugene” Rutledge, born February 14, 1965 to Terry and Shirley Rutledge of Arlington, Texas.

After a brief illness, he passed away on April 19, 2023 at his daughter’s home in Fort Worth.

Memorial gathering:  1 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.

Eugene grew up in Arlington, Texas, attending school and graduated from Bowie High School, Class of 1983.  After graduation he worked for Tom’s Plumbing and later worked for Reynolds and Reynolds.  Eugene enjoyed playing baseball, softball and bull riding.  Eugene was an amazing son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed.

Eugene is preceded in death by his son, Wesley “Aaron” Rutledge.

Survivors:  Parents, Terry and Shirley Rutledge; daughter, Samantha Johnston; brother, Darrell Rutledge; four grandchildren, Clayton and Christian Barnes and Corbin and Callie Reeves; aunt & uncle, Carolyn and Jack Dortch; nephew, Brian Rutledge; nieces, Brittany Dishnow, Julie Walker, Matti Richardson and Marki Rutledge; and numerous cousins and friends.
