Ft. Worth, Texas–Ronald Clarence Hall passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas. He died of complications from colon and lung cancer. He was born at Gaston Hospital in Dallas, Texas on May 31, 1952 to George Rufus and Vera (Shively) Hall. Survivors include his wife, Jane (Krantz) Hall; his son, Soren Slater Hall and his wife, Devin in Dallas, Soren’s mother, Holly (Slater) Hall in Dallas; an uncle, Conway Glass Hall in Houston; sisters: Sandra Lucas and her husband, Steven in McKinney, Georganna Zaba and her husband, Al in Horseshoe Bay; brother, David Scott Hall and his wife, Daryl in Sugarland; half-brothers: George R. Hall, Jr. in San Antonio, William E. Hall in DFW and James C. Hall in San Francisco; and two step-sons: Jason Jorgensen in Euless and Cameron Crawford in Fort Worth. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas in 1970 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1974. Ron worked as a Landscape Irrigator in the DFW metro-plex. He held license number 153 (1974). Over the years, he has valued greatly his friendships with his many loyal customers. He participated as an adult leader for many years in the Boy Scout program at Troop 636 at the White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas. He was Scout Master there for eight years. Subsequently, he was also an adult leader in the Boy Scout program at Troop 330 at the Birchman Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. His camping adventures with the scouts and fellow adult leaders ranged from the mountain tops in Colorado to waterfalls in Minnesota and to the ocean shore along Padre Island. Ron was a self-taught family genealogist, astronomer, gardener and naturalist. He enjoyed listening to and engaging in good conversation and debates with his friends. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Rod Simmons at White Rock United Methodist Church, 1450 Oldgate Lane, Dallas, Texas The service time is 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 with a reception to follow at the church.
