FORT WORTH-Thurman Lee “Hi Fi” Nelson passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the age of 72.

Thurman was born Sunday, January 19, 1947 to the late Moses and Ossie Ola Alexander Nelson in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He graduated from Muskogee Manual Training High School and attended Langston University in Oklahoma. He entered the US Army in 1969 and honorable retired in 1989. He served as helicopter aircraft maintenance supervisor and earned the air assault badge and airframe and power plant license. He was a consultant for car sales and leasing in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also was an armed border patrol agent for Nevada Bureau of Reclamation serving at the Hoover Dam. Later, he became a correctional officer for Texas Department of Corrections and a code enforcement officer for the city of Tyler, Texas. Thurman met his wife Eva in Kassel, Germany and they were married in 1979 in Kopenhagen, Denmark. He was totally committed to his family and strived to be a good father to his children and a good husband to Eva which he lovingly called “Luv”.
Thurman is preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Ossie Ola Nelson; sister, Betty Jean Wilson; brother, Moses Nelson Jr.; sister, Doris Nelson; and sister, Ruthie Mae Alexander.
Survivors: “Luv”ing wife of 40 years, Eva Luise Nelson; son, Hans Nelson; daughter, Tanya Kimberlain and husband, Scott; daughter, Kristina Nelson; granddaughters, Aaliyah Simone Nelson, Ariana Luise White and Ava Mae Nelson; sister-in-law, Elke Lore Menz; brother-in-law,Irvin Alexander; brother-in-law, Conjurel Wilson; and many special nieces and nephews and friends.
