Velma Flores

North Richland Hills-Velma Flores passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the age of 63.
Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Hurst.
Velma was born January 13, 1959 to the late Erasmo and Paula Reyna Flores in McAllen, Texas. Velma was on the Spirit Team during her high school years and graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School. Her enthusiasm from that carried over into her life in everything she did. She attended and supported her brothers in all their football and baseball games. Saturdays were the highlight of her week as she loved attending and supporting all the nephews at their soccer, football, and basketball games as well as tournaments. This developed a passion for all sports of which she was an avid fan. Her favorites were Texas Rangers Baseball, Dallas Cowboys Football and all TCU sports. She attended some college courses and spent most of her working career at Tandy Corporation as well as various other jobs in customer service and retail. Anyone who knew Velma knew her favorite things were sports, the #2, bingo with her sister Mary Lou, scratch-offs, daily strawberry and banana smoothies and family gatherings. The fondest memory the family has was the trip to Fayetville for her nephew, Paxton Flores Graduation where all 16 family members showed up to celebrate together. She had recently got a new 50 inch TV and loved watching sports on it. Velma loved the Lord and her family and she will be deeply missed by them all.
Velma is preceded in death by both her parents and several extended family members.
