HURST – William James (Flash) Gordon passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 85. He was always the life of the party, never met a stranger, and his bold personality will be deeply missed by all.
GRAVESIDE MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 S. Mary Street, Arlington, Texas 76010
James was born on October 4, 1935 in Coleman, Oklahoma to the late Willie and Della Gordon. He graduated in 1954 from Wapanucka High School in Oklahoma. He moved to Fort Worth, married, and has two daughters he loved and adored. James proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Army and National Guard of Texas. He retired after 35 years of dedicated service in sales with Montgomery Ward in Fort Worth, where he received several awards. He loved living in Texas, but also enjoyed many vacations that were taken to California and other travels along the West Coast. There were many family gatherings that ended up with pool volleyball or Sunday football games. He loved to always have a great time with his friends & family including water activities, baseball, football, basketball, billiards, dancing and good food. James was a Christian and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Frank Gordon.
SURVIVORS: Married 1986, Barbara Gordon; Married 1957, Maurine Gordon; daughters, Brenda Gordon, Donna Judd (married to Lance); stepsons, Barry Kane, Brad Kane (married to Ashley); grandsons, Garrett Broder, Dylan Broder, Marshall Judd, Cody Judd and Tyler Judd; brother, Kenneth Gordon (married to JoAnn); nephews, Mike Gordon (married to Rhonda), Randy Gordon (married to Doralee), and Brad Gordon. Best dog friend, Sami.
