Memory from son James Boane, Jr. and daughter Janis Edwards about William Coleman
Dad was a romantic. He was always expressing his love to Mom. Dad knew it was the little things that made a difference. For example, they both loved to drink green tea. Dad took the opportunity during tea time to express his love for Mom by writing tiny love notes on the tea packets for her to find. They would say things like…”I love Tommie and I love Cornbread…The flower of my heart…I love you very much…You’re like a vanilla shake, wonderful.” Dad obviously loved to use food references. Mom enjoyed them so much, she kept them in a box in her room.
Memory from granddaughters Lisa Schuster and Andrea Duff about William Coleman
Most father in law/son in law relationships are not always the best. But, that was not the case with Pepaw and my Dad. They were buddies who loved to hunt, camp, and go canoeing down the Brazos river. Pepaw and Dad would say…”Time to get the paddle wet” when they wanted to plan a trip. My dad had access to a ranch in Stephenville where he’d take Pepaw to shoot turkey. As a kid, I would look forward to them coming home from these trips because the two of them would sit and tell all of the adventures they had, there was never a boring camping, hunting or canoeing story—there was always something that went wrong! For instance, one time Pepaw was putting his gun on the bed of Dad’s Dually to shoot a turkey and ended up shooting through the liner of the truck bed—incidentally he shot the truck but missed the turkey! Later that day, Pepaw propped his rifle on the side of Dad’s truck, but Dad didn’t know it and drove the truck over Pepaw’s rifle! Never a dull moment with those two.
William Coleman hobbies and interests: He was very into sports. He played softball, he played on a team at work. He was also a die-hard Mavericks fan.
Memory from Lynn
Some of my favorite memories of my dad were trips to the lake where he would take me and my friends skiing on our boat. We had many great adventures at the lake doing silly things, laughing, telling stories, but mainly being with dad. That was the best! He was also at all of my High School football games. Sometimes I couldn’t see him, but I always knew he was there, and that meant so much to me! Most recently were the times we got to spend together whether we were hanging out at my work or out hanging shutters. Oh yeah, and there were the toothpicks!

Granddaddy memories
My Granddaddy was always trying to think of a way to make me laugh. I remember often looking over at him and he would have his hands behind his back and a mischievous grin on his face, and I knew he was about to make a silly joke!
Granddaddy also bestowed on me a LOVE for Asian buffets. As a kid, every time we would go out to eat we would go to an all you can eat Asian buffet. Chicken on a stick was one of our go-tos! Now some of my friends can’t believe how much I’m obsessed with Asian buffets and how much I can eat. I just respond with, “I got it from my Granddaddy.”
Granddaddy loved his family dearly and checked up on us often. I will miss him, his giant heart, and his silly jokes more than I can express.
Memory from Tina
Will and Tommie were simple people. They didn’t need all of the many gadgets in the world we have today. They worked hard all of their lives and raised 3 lovely children. They used to go on walks, talk, laugh and they loved sitting out on their deck watching birds and any other creatures that ventured into their yard. They were always very kind to me and made me feel like a part of the family. They gave to me the most precious thing in my life…Lynn, their son.

Lynn, we are saddened to hear of the loss of both of your parents and the additional strain of their passing occurring so close together. We believe you might be able to take comfort that they are not apart on the other side of the veil. You, Tina, and your family are in our hearts and prayers. May Heavenly Father and the Savior bless and sustain you through this time of grief and mourning and provide you with memories of the good times and joys shared with your parents over the years.

Dear Lynn,
We mourn with you at the passing of your dear mother and father. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing them but clearly they were wonderful people that instilled in you the qualities that made you the man we love and admire.
I pray that the peace that only our Heavenly Father can bestow at times like this will be yours and fill your mind only with the wonderful and happy memories of your beloved parents. May He heal your grief and may your hope rest on the reality of the resurrection of His Son. You will see them again.
